What is WiMAX?

WiMAX is the next generation of high speed wireless internet and is built to deliver commercial grade internet services like, voice, streaming video and data. Using licensed 3.65 Ghz spectrum and industry leading Motorola equipment, WiMAX is more reliable, interference free and faster than any other wireless product on the market and is offered exclusively by AirSpeed Wireless.

What kind of speeds can I expect?

You will get speeds very similar to what you can get on a cable modem and superior to speeds on a dsl modem and far superior to any other wireless product. Depending on the package you choose, you'll get reliable speeds up to 6 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload with data plans up to 60 GB per month. Still need more, AirSpeed can deliver custom packages beyond 10 Mbps for those requiring greater speeds.

I'm still skeptical, why is it so much better?

First of all it's licensed wireless which means you won't be plagued by interference from residential wireless routers, cordless phones, wireless web cams and any number of other unlicensed wireless equipment that are very common in today's homes. Secondly the Motorola equipment is commercial grade top of the line gear with over 500% more capacity and horse power than the other wireless equipment being used. AirSpeed has invested over $250,000 in equipment and tower sites over the past year to bring this service to the Shuswap and surrounding areas and we are committed to being the market leader in wireless internet service. We have been testing WiMax for over 1 year in our own homes, using it for phone service, streaming video, downloading movies and doing online gaming and it works great. We stand behind what we sell and if you're not happy we'll either do what ever it takes to fix the problem or refund your money, in full.

What about snow and rain or bad weather, is that going to affect my service?

No, weather does not affect your wireless internet service. WiMAX is very robust, plus we have everything on battery back up and natural gas generators for really bad power outages.

So how much is this going to cost?

We have monthly internet service plans to fit any budget, starting at $39.95 and phone service starting at just $19.95 per month.

Are there any other costs?

Yes, you will need some equipment installed at your home or business to receive the WiMAX signal. The cost is $299 and we offer an easy pay plan so you can spread the cost out over 6 months.

I already bought wireless equipment from AirSpeed or from another wireless provider, what are you going to do about that?

We'll give you a $100 credit on your account for any wireless equipment that you trade in for WiMAX.

What about this phone service you mentioned, how does that work?

It works just like your regular phone, only over your WiMAX internet connection, using the same phones and outlets that you use now. You get a local phone number from either Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Chase, Kamloops, Kelowna or even Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, or Toronto and you get voicemail, call display and call waiting plus we'll give you the first 3 months for free including unlimited North America long distance.

This all sounds great but nothing ever works perfectly all the time, what if I have a problem?

AirSpeed Wireless and our parent company Mascon Cable Systems have been around over 25 years and has a staff of 20 highly trained technicians and support people and we're open Monday to Friday 8 am to 7 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm and we have a toll free number and 24 hour emergency support, if needed. Most issues are solved within hours by phone support and within 24 hours if we have to send a technician to your home and as always, technical support is free. Our network is monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week by sophisticated real time network monitoring equipment, so we'll know there is a problem and have it fixed most times before you know anything went wrong.
